Medium and high voltage

We buy 5kV through 69kV medium and high voltage cable

Utility, industrial and campus distribution cable. EPR and XLPE insulation, concentric neutral, copper tape shield — the reels that cost real money and get stored for years.

Medium voltage cable is bought in long lengths, pulled once, and rarely reused on the same project. A substation upgrade or a plant distribution change can leave a reel of 15kV concentric neutral cable that is entirely usable and completely in the way.

We review 5kV, 8kV, 15kV, 25kV, 35kV and 69kV+ cable, EPR and XLPE insulated, with copper or aluminum conductors and tape shield or concentric neutral construction.

Medium & high voltage — surplus and partial reels are both in scope.

For MV and HV reels, send

  • Voltage class and insulation type, EPR or XLPE
  • Conductor size and material
  • Shield or neutral construction: concentric neutral, tape shield or armored
  • Full versus partial reel, and approximate footage
  • The reel tag photo, since MV tags carry the test and length data
  • Whether the cable has been energized or pulled

Tags and test data carry the value

On medium voltage cable the reel tag is the document. It records length, voltage class and the factory test. A tagged reel is straightforward to evaluate; a reel with no identification and no history is a much harder conversation, and often not something we can buy at all.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Wire quote request

Tell us what you have and where it is. Photos of the reel tag and jacket legend help us respond faster.

Photos: add up to 6 photos (10 MB total) — the full reel, the reel tag, and the jacket legend or wire size marking. Photos are optional, but they are the fastest way to get a real answer.

Medium & high voltage questions

Do you buy 15kV cable?
Yes, along with 5kV, 8kV, 25kV and 35kV. Send the voltage class, conductor size and shield construction, plus a photo of the tag.
Do you buy concentric neutral cable?
Yes. Note the neutral wire count and size, which is normally printed on the tag.
Will you buy cable that has already been pulled?
Sometimes. Pulled MV cable is evaluated on jacket condition, bend damage and any test records you have. Be upfront about the history.
Do you buy cable accessories or terminations?
No. Splices, terminators, elbows and other accessories are outside our scope. Wire and cable only.
