We buy surplus wire from manufacturers

A machine builder buys cable by the spool for one panel and finishes with most of it. Multiply by every build in a year.

Machine builders and panel shops buy in small conductor sizes: TFFN, MTW, control cable, tray cable and flexible cord, often on 250 or 500 foot spools. Each build consumes part of a spool and adds to the shelf.

Plants that build their own equipment have the same problem at larger scale, with motor feeders and VFD cable on top of it.

What we buy from manufacturers and machine builders

Panel and control wire

TFFN, MTW and control cable in the 16 to 10 AWG range, usually in partial spools.

Equipment feeds

Motor feeders and VFD cable bought for a machine that changed before installation.

Build closeout remnants

Cable left after a build ships, still tagged and still usable.

What we need from you

  • Spool list with type, gauge and approximate remaining length
  • Which spools are sealed and which are opened
  • Voltage and temperature rating from the print

Spools are the unit

Machine wire is bought and priced by the spool. Once a spool is opened it is not stock anymore, but it is still wire, and a shelf of opened spools across ten sizes is exactly the kind of lot we buy.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, poles or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Manufacturers and machine builders questions

Do you buy small spools of MTW?
Yes, as part of a lot. Single opened spools of #18 are not worth a pickup.
Do you buy machine tool wire in colors?
Yes. Color-coded panel wire is normal and does not change the price.
Can you value a whole crib?
Yes. Send a list or a set of photos and we will tell you which portion is worth moving.
Sell your surplus wire
