A maintenance crib holds decades of good cable bought for equipment that has since been replaced.

Plant maintenance buys cable ahead of need because a shutdown is not the time to discover a size is missing. When the equipment changes, the spare reels stay, and the crib slowly fills with material for machines that no longer exist.

Shutdowns and line changes are the natural moment to clear it, and medium voltage reels are usually the largest single item in the pile.

Tagged reels of THHN, XHHW, control and tray cable kept as spares.

Shutdown leftovers

Cable bought for a turnaround and not consumed, often still sealed.

What we need from you

  • Crib inventory with type, size and footage
  • Which items are spare stock and which came out of service
  • For medium voltage, the reel tag and any test data

Handled around production

Plant loads are scheduled, escorted and documented. We work to your access rules, load during agreed windows, and price medium voltage on the tag and documentation rather than appearance.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, poles or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Do you buy cable that was in service?
Sometimes, if it was cleanly removed and the jacket is intact. Cable pulled through conduit is judged on condition.
Can you work during a shutdown window?
Yes. Tell us the dates and the access requirements at quote stage.
Do you buy transformers or switchgear as part of a lot?
No. Wire and cable only. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.
