Contractors

We buy surplus wire from electrical contractors

Every contractor has a shelf of half-used reels. It is not scrap, it is not inventory, and it is usually worth more than the shelf space it is taking.

Contractors are our most common seller, and the reason is arithmetic. A job is estimated in feet, ordered in reels, and installed in whatever the drawing actually required. The difference stays in the shop.

Three partial reels of 4/0 aluminum, a coil of #10 and a spool of green grounding conductor are not worth a trip individually. Together they are a normal load.

What we buy from electrical contractors

Job closeout leftovers

THHN, MC and SER from jobs that finished with material on the reel.

Over-ordered feeders

Aluminum and copper feeders bought for a size that changed before installation.

Van and shop stock

Partial spools of grounding, control and portable cord that accumulate across a season.

Electrical contractors — wire and cable only, in any quantity worth a pickup.

What we need from you

  • Each wire type and size as its own line
  • Rough footage or a note that the reel is full
  • Photos of reel tags where they still exist

One pickup instead of twenty trips

Contractors do not have time to sell three reels at a time. Send one list with sizes and rough footage, and the whole shelf gets quoted together. If part of it is not worth moving, we will say which part and why.

Wire and cable only

We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, poles or unrelated scrap. Mixed loads are fine as long as we are quoting the wire portion.

Electrical contractors questions

Do you buy from a single crew?
Yes. One truck's worth of leftovers is a normal load if the sizes are real.
Will you take wire that is dirty or faded?
Usually yes, if the jacket and insulation are intact. Sun fading alone does not disqualify a reel.
Can you pick up at a jobsite?
Yes. Tell us the access, the gate situation and whether there is equipment on site to load.
